SENIOR TAX EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS DUE SOON!

Dear Delaware City Residents,

This is a reminder that the deadline to apply for the Delaware City Property Tax Exemption for Seniors and Disabled Persons is fast approaching! Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2025.

This exemption reduces a property’s taxable assessment by $40,000 for qualified applicants. To be eligible:

• You must apply annually under Chapter 3, Article I of the Delaware City Code.
• Individual income may not exceed $20,000 (excluding Social Security or disability income). Household income may not exceed $25,000.
• You must be over 65 years of age or a disabled resident on SSI
• You must have also owned your current residence for one (1) year, by December 31, 2024
