Town Hall Closure
Town Hall will be closed tomorrow in observance of Good Friday.
We will reopen on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 9:00 AM.
Pay Online Now Available!
Paying your property taxes and invoices just got easier! Delaware City residents can now pay online in a few simple steps.
To get started, visit delawarecity.org and click “Pay Online,” or go directly to edmundsgovpay.com/delawarecity.
How to Pay Online:
1. Go to the website and click “Pay Online”
2. Search using your owner name and address, Customer ID, or Customer ID and PIN
3. Confirm your account details
4. Click “Make a Payment”
5. Choose your payment method (card or eCheck)
6. Enter your email to receive a receipt
7. Submit your payment
Fees:
eCheck: $1.95
Debit/Credit Card: 2.95%
Please note: Creating an account is optional but allows you to schedule payments and enroll in AutoPay.

Election Reminder
The Delaware City election will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026!
We encourage all residents to come out and vote at the Delaware City Community Center from 12 Noon to 8 PM!

Senior Tax Exemption Deadline
The deadline to apply for the Senior Tax Exemption is April 15, 2026! If you qualify, be sure to submit your application on time.

Delaware City Board Openings
We currently have one open seat on the Board of Adjustment, one on the Tree Commission, and many on the Board of Ethics. This is a great opportunity to get involved and play a role in shaping our community. If you are interested, please reach out to Town Hall and drop off your resume.

Continue the Delaware in Conversation series with “What Does It Mean to Be a Delawarean?” This thoughtful and engaging discussion invites residents to reflect on Delaware’s identity, from its history and traditions to the people and places that make it unique. It’s a great chance to connect, share perspectives, and learn something new.

Delaware City Bicentennial Celebration

Location: Delaware City Community Center
Join us as we celebrate 200 YEARS of our community with a full day of activities!
Enjoy historical trolley tours, exhibits from local organizations and residents, live music by the Newark Community Band and The John Hoey Orchestra, birthday cake, and fun for all ages. Come celebrate with us!
35th Annual Yard Sale
Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Delaware City’s biggest sale of the year is back. Nearly every neighborhood participates, offering everything from furniture and antiques to clothing, toys, and more.
Make a day of it by exploring different parts of town, stopping by local restaurants, or even taking a ferry ride to Fort Delaware.
If you are not a resident or need space to sell items, contact the Delaware City Rotary Club at 302-834-4172 to reserve a spot.

Tree Commission Arbor Day Events
Arbor Day Tree Talk
Date: April 2, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Delaware City Community Center (Library)
Join the Delaware City Tree Commission for an informative and interactive evening focused on trees and their care. Hear from Urban and Community Forest Coordinator and Arborist Taryn Davidson of the Delaware Forest Service, meet commission members, and learn practical tips you can use at home.
There will also be a display of library books for both adults and children, along with activities for kids.
Arbor Day Information Table
Stop by the Delaware City Post Office on Friday, April 24 to pick up educational materials and ask questions about tree care and community forestry.
